Hum’s first party cookie approach is that we set a cookie on your company’s domains and only share information with other domains that are using your company’s instance of Hum.

Hum stores a visitor id cookie against the domain that it is currently running on. E.g. www.xyz.com.
Simultaneously, Hum stores a copy of that visitor id in local storage for your instance of Hum. So if you then visit from www.xyz.cn, Hum looks up that visitor id from xyz.hum.works to connect the user’s profile from www.xyz.com and www.xyz.cn. Hum then stores that visitor id as a cookie on www.xyz.cn in addition to the cookie previously set on www.xyz.com. Note: Hum can be configured to run as a vanity URL (See instructions) against your one of your sites that is agreed up during installation.  This means that no calls would ever be made to xyz.hum.works and would instead be made to xyz.hum.xyz.com.
