Introduction

Introducing our updated Live Engagement lead generation forms! You can now choose and customize any demographic field within Hum, including new fields, for your campaign forms. Hum supports the following input types: Text, Select (dropdown), Email, Location, and Checkbox.

Input Types

Text

A text input for custom form fields allows users to manually type in their responses. It’s versatile and can be used to collect any form of text data such as names, email addresses, comments, etc.

Limits: 200 characters max

Select

A text input for custom form fields allows users to manually type in their responses. It’s versatile and can be used to collect any form of text data such as names, email addresses, comments, etc.

Limits: Select field does not support multi-select

Email

The email input field in a custom form allows users to provide their email address. It includes built-in validation to ensure that the entered data is in proper email format.

Note: If your form has more than 1 email field, a radio button will appear in the form builder, asking you to select a “primary email”. The email field selected will serve as the primary email used in Hum.

Location

The Location field in our custom form prompts the user to select their country. Should they choose either the USA or Canada, an additional drop-down will appear requesting them to specify their state or province.

Limits: State/Province is only configured for USA & Canada.

Checkbox

A checkbox input in custom form fields is a simple field that enables users to select or deselect a single option. It’s stored as a Boolean value, representing either a “true” (checked) or “false” (unchecked) state.

Existing Fields vs Newly Created Fields

Your existing fields can be found when you search the available fields. Existing fields are populated based on profile demographics. Any demographic fields that we are collecting from your integrations will be available.

Newly created fields can be created by clicking the “Add New” button at the end of the search.

How do I use Custom Form Field data in Hum?

New fields will only be available within the Hum dashboard. They will not sync to connected integrations.

You will be able to segment on all custom form fields (existing and new) in Audience Explorer. Audience Explorer is populated by current user data meaning that custom form field data will be available in Audience Explorer after users on your site begin submitting those forms.

RBAC controls

As part of this expansion in functionality, 2 new role based access control permissions will be available in your role settings. By default, only Admins will have these permissions.

  1. Create new form fields
  2. Edit select options for a form field
