Use this path to understand Engage’s core building blocks and prepare a first Live Engagement Campaign. Start with a clear audience and a single goal; expand the campaign after you have checked the experience.

Before you begin

  • Confirm you have access to the workspace and the permissions needed for the campaign actions you plan to take.
  • Agree with your team on the campaign’s goal, intended audience, and where it should appear.
  • Use your team’s approved testing process before exposing a campaign to visitors. This guide does not ask you to publish a test to a live audience.

1. Understand your audience

Start in Audience Explorer. A profile represents an audience member; a segment groups profiles using criteria you define. Review the Segments guide before selecting a target audience.

If a segment is not available for targeting, check its visibility and Segment Control Toggles. Do not make a segment public or enable an integration just to troubleshoot without understanding the effect.

2. Plan the experience

Choose the message, destination, and action you want the audience to take. If your workflow uses content collections, read Content Collections. Use the campaign best practices to consider overlap, frequency, and creative choices.

3. Build and check the campaign

Follow the Live Engagement Campaign guide for the builder workflow. For a sequence of touchpoints, start with the multi-stage introduction.

Before release, review audience selection, active and excluded pages, timing, prompt limits, and the destination links. Check the experience using your approved test procedure.

4. Confirm the outcome

A successful setup is one where the intended audience, message, destination, and eligibility rules match your plan. After your team approves launch, use campaign reporting to evaluate results. One test visit alone does not establish that all targeting and timing conditions are satisfied.

If something is not working

Start with Why isn’t my campaign appearing? Keep the campaign’s targeting and exclusions intact while you investigate. If you need assistance, contact your Hum Customer Success Manager with the campaign identifier, expected behavior, and the checks you completed.
